Why We Built it

SteamVR puts you inside the game. Motion controllers let you aim and shoot, while a rifle stock adds a physical point of contact. We wanted to bring more of that experience into your hands.

steamvr puts you inside the game. motion controllers let you aim and shoot, while a rifle stock adds a physical point of contact. we wanted to bring more of that experience into your hands —— motor-driven recoil, a removable magazine, and dedicated controls for pistol and rifle play. that thinking shaped m17 and m416.

Features

The Shot Doesn’t End in the headset.

Motor-Driven Recoil

The M17 and M416 deliver a physical kick with every shot, bringing the feel of recoil to SteamVR shooters. That kick can disturb your aim, making follow-up shots harder to land. You’ll need to steady your hands and recover your aim between shots—a more demanding experience that makes virtual shooting feel closer to the real thing.

Physical Magazine Reload

Removing the magazine and seating it back into place gives each reload the feel of handling a real pistol or rifle. In SteamVR firefights, that physical action adds tension to the seconds between running empty and being ready to fire again. The M416 adds a charging handle, making pulling back the handle part of the experience.

Rediscover Your SteamVR Shooters.

Bring your M17 or M416 into your SteamVR library. Feel the tension of running low on ammo, the rush of pushing through a firefight, and the satisfaction of landing a difficult shot. From survival encounters to fast-paced action, the games you already enjoy take on a more physical feel.

Classic Design. Real Presence.

Inspired by classic pistol and rifle designs, the M17 and M416 give your SteamVR gear a physical presence beyond the headset. Their distinct shapes and controls make aiming and reloading feel connected to the equipment you see in-game.

Half-Life: Alyx — Get Lost in City 17

Search for supplies, work through puzzles, and lean out from cover to face the Combine. City 17 draws you in through the small things you do with your own hands. With a physical grip and trigger, each encounter adds to the feeling that you’re there, fighting your way through the story.

Pistol Whip — Find Your Flow

Duck under incoming fire, swing your aim to the next target, and land your shot on the beat. Music and movement pull you into an action sequence of your own. When your timing and aim come together, chasing a higher score feels like perfecting a performance.

Crisis Brigade 2 — Bring the Arcade Home

Get behind cover, wait for an opening, then lean out and return fire. This is the familiar thrill of an arcade shootout with your body in the action. Every cleared encounter brings a moment of relief—and the urge to push through the next one.

Arizona Sunshine — Face the Undead Together

Head into a sun-scorched Arizona where the dead keep closing in. Hold your ground alone or bring a friend along for the fight. The tension builds as the distance shrinks, turning a narrow escape into the kind of moment you’ll still be talking about after the headsets come off.
